Blogging,What wrong with being a blogger?

Blogging is an activity whereby a person shared his/her thoughts, feelings, emotions, hobbies, interests and families to known and maybe unknown readers to let them see and understand what they felt. Some blogger, a term for people who blogged, preferred to keep their blog only for their own because they think that what they wrote on the blog was too personal or they felt that they will be looked down, or underestimate because what they wrote in their blog gave people a different picture of the person from what he/ she usually pictured him/herself in daily interaction.

Blogging has developed in so rapidly that nowadays, people make blog for many different new reasons. Most of the existed blog was made for the money making purpose, most of them contain sexually explicit videos or pictures contains or download links, some of them contain movies or musics download links or videos, there is also some of them contain information about how to make money online itself; links to sites that gives money for doing surveys, data entry, and surfing advertisement. Some others are making blogs for other purpose like, selling goods and services online, creating a small fansclub and etc.

The increasing number of blog that publish sexually explicit material has drawn attention to many countries legal authorities such as China and most recently Indonesia. In China, one of the reason blogging was prohibited or restricted was because the numerous amount of "adult" blog. If it was the real reason behind the prohibition of blog why not make a stricter rules and regulation on blogging or blogger, such as banned or close all adult blog. I believed through the advancement in the IT technology nowadays, it is not difficult to track down adult website. Some observer argued that it is for the purpose of stopping liberal or capitalist view penetrate Chinese people view because the government afraid that it will give rise to rebellion. but let's cut the topic of until there because i am afraid that i might be caught one days for writing too much politically taboo topics.

I am not unreasonable for the sudden stop in discussing the topic there. The increasing amount of pressure putted on blogger has drawn me into careful selection of words. With the recently caught malaysian blogger, R.P., under the Internal Security Act, for sure, blogger especially in Malaysia are now more reluctant to share their view on blog. R.P. was jailed without proper trial. I am not too sure whether he has been released or not. A few weeks after RJ was caught, the newspaper said that there is one more blogger arrested in HK and accussed for causing fear and panic in the society because he wrote about the possible collapsed of HK Financial Institution.

But why blogger are caught? Blog are a placed where we can shared our views so that people know what we are thinking. It is subjective to the person and do not contain any legal facts. People who read blog shouldn't believed what was written on it because it is not official, it might gave us an insight but it is still not official. If you believe in it, it's okay. if you don't, it's okay. If you think the writer are right, support him. if you think he is wrong, give your reasoning and try to discuss. There is a comment box on each post. but why should government arrested blogger for what they wrote? it is just not making any sense to me.

Some government even confused blogger with hacker. Like the indonesian goverment. When there is a plan to approve a regulation on internet so that no adult websites can be accessed in Indonesia, Some hacker make chaos in some of indonesian goverment websites and one of the political party website by posting sexy pictures on the main page. This cause a serious problems and the government through the advice of one IT proffesional, RS, accused blogger as the culprit. After long discussion and debate, at last, they both understand that blogger might not necessary be a hacker and a hacker might not neccessarily owned a blog.

Blogger are getting more and more attention in a more conservative countries. They see the trend of blogging is rather bad. It could harm the new and younger generation because they are exposed to many and unproven theories, articles and etc. But the way i see it is, It provide a platform for a younger generation to learn new things, to learn how people think, and of course learn how to write. But before they are exposed to many unproven or sometimes radical article or theory, they have to know and studied the proven and acceptable ones first.

Maybe blogger one day should make a blogger UNION/ blogger United like the worker union, united nations, G-7 and etc so that when a blogger encountered problems there somebody big backing him/her. peace!
