Human Regeneration? Is It Possible?

Note : This is my first draft. As i do not have time to review what i am writing, please understand that this post might contains many errors like grammatical or maybe information delivering errors. Do you know Claire Bennet? She is a girl who can regenerate parts of her body after it was cut off or removed from herself. Her regeneration ability is so fast that once her finger was cut down, she can grew it back in a matter of seconds. If you happen to find or know a person who can regenerate, it will be very awesome. Scientifically, She can control the pace of cell degradation which mean she can not died. Actually i do not know Claire Bennet personally, she is a character in the US TV Series, Heroes. Now the TV series has reaced Season 3.

But i am not here to talk about the TV Series but about the "real" human capabilities to regenerate him(her)self. According to some scientists, there is quite a possibility that human can regenerate their parts of body, although not as fast as what "Claire Bennet" has done in the Series. The arguments about this is that we once has this abilities but it was forgotten or left out as we matured.

An embrio cells inside a mother tummy, during the formation of the "little baby" if removed from the main cells, can be regrown back easily and will not have a further implications on the baby. Even when the baby is born, if the finger tip is removed or cut off, It can be easily grew back and will look perfectly normal as before (this ability existed until approximately 5 years old).

So now the main question is how can we "recall" the ways to use that ability? or is it just that the parts that is responsible for "regeneration" has wither away as we become older?

A proffesor said that the only way to "recall" this ability is to "communicate" with our body. The communication here has some different definitions. Some regard communication is through the mind existence (meditation), while some others regard this as physical existence (by putting stimuli on part of the body using natural materials (Pig Intestine can be used but need to be cleared in laboratory first) or even artificial materials (Chemistry). The "mind" ways has not been scientifically known or proven yet while the natural materials has been proven. A man in his 70s lost his finger tip during an accident, has his fingertip back after being treated with the natural materials.

However, there is a need to address a moral question. If we all can regenerate, what will happen to future generations? No more child? or over-population? pollution? even scarcer resources?

First of all, we need to admit that regeneration ability, if possible, will be able to cure all patient from their ailings. We do not have to pay huge sum of money for medical expenses. But this will only happen at the expense of doctors and nurses. Which one is better? This is subject to our own values, if we think that we all must died then maybe some of us will think that regeneration is of no use because "God" created us to die. This is a dilemma that we need to think of.

Then, if regeneration made us immortals, then earth will be over-populated. This can be overcome with trade off of child birth or a more unconventional method is to acquire other planets or even living on space craft like star trek or star wars. Some unethical method is to "kill" those who have reached certain aged. (i am not encouraging people but just giving out the possible outcomes)

Of course, there are many other things that we need to take into account. But due to time constraint, i will have to stop for now.
